The most useful, useless thing I have

The Twiddle Fiddle. I bought the Twiddle Fiddle off of Amazon a couple of weeks ago because I wanted some sort of thing that I could just mess around with while my body was idle. The primary way in which I use it is while I am studying notes or reading textbooks my hands have nothing to do. The Twiddle Fiddle allows me to simply mess with something tangible as I’m busy reading and studying. I find it to be very comforting because otherwise I start to feel awkward just sitting here staring at my notes.

Just as a disclaimer, I literally just fiddled with it after I finished writing the above paragraph and began proofreading it.

Anyway, the Twiddle Fiddle is a 70 piece set of little plastic links that you can combine into many different shapes. Another picture of the box:

The primary Fiddle object I use is seen in the bottom right of the following picture. It’s two squares linked together by a loop and I usually just end up rolling that around in my hand or placing it on my finger and scrunching up the squares. It really is oddly satisfying. (I might cross post this to /r/oddlysatisfying on Reddit later). The top two objects are just the left over pieces that I don’t really use.

I honestly don’t believe buying the Twiddle Fiddle was a waste of money (contrary to popular beliefs) because I use it for so many hours on a daily basis. I am not exaggerating when I say I fiddle with it after every couple sentences in this post because I am rereading what I type and I need something to do. It’s like an addiction.

There really isn’t much else to say about the product other than it’s an amazing desk toy and I feel like everyone needs a little something in their life that they can go to and just mess around with. it’s a good outlet and helps me remain just a tad stress free.
